Motivation Monday

Do you ever feel like you can't catch a break? One thing happens after another and you're just wondering when the good is going to happen. I've been there, done that, and sang that song. We are our own worst critic and I definitely am hard on myself. There are times when I look at myself especially my "blog success" and think that I am not where I want to be, and how come I'm not there yet, and if I should continue. I definitely question it all the time and get down on myself for not being there yet. But then after some tough love and realization, I come to my senses and remember that Rome wasn't built in a day and as long as I keep at it with consistency and persistence, I'll get to where I want to be.
I forgot who said this quote but man, this spoke volumes to me! It definitely rings true. When you want to chase your dreams and fulfill your passions, you'll be tested. You WILL be tested over and over. With success comes trials and tribulations and that's just a part of the process. You aren't going to get to the other side so easily; the things worth having are worth working for. Meaning, you're going to have to put in the time and effort for them and you're going to have to prove yourself worthy of having them. The ones who put in the worth and countless hours will get there and when you keep at it, you'll surely get your breakthrough. You aren't going to be able to talk about how you made it or how you got through the tough times to get to the good without your stories of the obstacles you had to go through. What defines us is how well we get back up after falling, no matter how many tests we've been given.

Born To Be Wild

Call it biased or what have you but I truly believe that the best time to have been born is in the 90's. Yes, I'm a 90's baby but come on, the 90's had great music, great tv shows, pretty much great everything! So when I spotted this shirt in Forever 21 I just had to get it! Not to mention it has my exact birth year on it; kinda funny huh? Anywho, I wanted to make this an edgy street style look so I went with this jersey skirt from Boohoo and paired it with my fave belt of all time for some extra detail. Topped the whole look off with a moto jacket and a dark lippie; pretty edgy right? Enjoy the look and happy Friday!

The Lovely Look Turns 3

Yes, the time has come yet again; my baby of a blog turns 3 years old today! I can't believe it's already been 3 years since I've started this blog and kept consistent with it the whole time. I'm pretty proud if I do say so myself. Although last year wasn't as fulfilling as I had hoped for (mainly on my part), I have high hopes for this year to be my "comeback" year. I have plans to do more and do better. And like with anything in life, that's all that should matter; you live, learn, and keep on keeping on. What's the point of life if you don't keep trying to be better than what you were yesterday?

I can recap my whole blogging experience but for now I'll only look back on the most significant parts that I can remember. This blogging journey has taken me to some places where I couldn't even fathom when I first started. Like when I was published in Seventeen magazine (which was so awesome, I had to get copies for my whole family), or the time I got to meet Lucy Hale and interview her on her line with Hollister. Even though I still feel like a small blogger I still feel like I'm going somewhere..slowly but surely. And if anything, last year was a year of trial and tribulation for me; a year of growth. I've learned some things and now I'm ready to put it into overdrive. I promise you that by this time next year, I'll have a lot more milestones to look back on and of course, the blog will be bigger and better.

So for now, THANK YOU to those who have been following me along on this journey and thank you for supporting me through it all! If it wasn't for those who continuously choose to read my posts and like my stuff, the blog wouldn't be much of a success. I hope that what you get from my blogging is a sense of confidence that you, too, can wear whatever you want and look great doing so! I'm here to keep inspiring others and that'll always be my main focus; the motto. So, cheers to another year! And another cheers for many more along with success! Thank you!
