The weather Gods have finally arrived and it's starting to drop temperatures here in SoCal; hallelujah! I can now gradually wear my Fall wear (keyword is gradually). I had been wanting some over the knee cognac boots for such a long time so I had to snag these when I found them in Forever 21. What better way to celebrate the colder weather than to put these bad boys on right away?! The best part of this outfit is the fact that I snagged this dress from Target for only $13! I love lovee Target's sale rack, they have such good hidden gems there. Another highlight is that I also got this double buckle belt and let me just say that it totally brings this outfit together, am I right?! Enjoy the look!

Motivation Monday

I don't mean to sound like a broken record but I'm afraid I'm repeating myself yet again. I've told you before how sometimes these #MotivationMonday posts are personal and meant for myself; like a diary in a way. So here's to another one meant for me. I know I've mentioned before how I've felt uninspired and have had zero motivation to post at times...well, I'm at that place again. This past week has been somewhat hard for me as far as internally and it's affected one of the things I love the most, my blog. I didn't post all week last week (fashion wise), I took an Instagram hiatus, and kind of just tuned out of social media for a couple days. To be honest, it feels good and as sad as not posting on this blog made me, it also motivated me to come back better. I know myself and I know that I can fall 10 times and get back up 11.
The positive to all of this is that I'm the type of person that NEVER gives up. I always get what I want no matter what; where there's a will, there's a way for me. I can let the internal stuff defeat me and make me lose sight of myself, or I can be the strong bad ass that I am and keep going. Of course I'm going to keep going. I can't give up something that I love to do; I can't and I won't. So yes it's true, it's hard to stop someone who never gives up! So if there's something you feel like giving up on, DON'T. If you're at some point in your life where you feel like giving up, DON'T. You owe it to yourself to keep going. Keep on keeping on and I promise you that your reward will be worth it. Make yourself be that strong person that doesn't take no for an answer. Don't let the little things get in your way. Make your own way and remember that you'll only go as far as you believe you can go. So believe in yourself like you want someone to believe in you.

Motivation Monday

It's inevitable sometimes to keep myself from worrying. Worry is a good but only to a certain extent. Well sometimes I can worry way too much and end up worrying myself into exhaustion. What I've been learning on this mental health journey of mine is that worrying is not only detrimental to your sanity but it also robs you of your current joy. When we're constantly worrying we fail to see the present for what it is and we fail to enjoy it. I'm wasting time worrying about something when regardless, whatever is meant to happen will happen; despite my efforts of worry.
I saw this on a billboard on the freeway the other day and this quote completely stuck out to me. It's as if it was meant for me to see it. I am a worry wart and so I knew it was a sign and a must read. I thought I'd share it because not only is it true, it also gives you something else to think about. The time that I waste worrying, I could be using that time and thought process to attract myself something else; something better and more positive. Of course worrying is considered negative because when you worry, you're thinking of all things that can possibly go wrong. You're worrying about the possibilities and the what ifs when majority of the time, more than half of these worries won't even come true. Don't waste your time worrying about it. Whatever "IT" is will come and play out the way it's supposed to. Instead, channel your thought process into what you do want. Be patient with yourself and remember, ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Not So Casual

So my head is finally wrapping itself around the idea that sometimes a t-shirt and jeans doesn't always have to be considered too casual. There ARE ways to wear some jeans and still look cute and presentable. It took me quite some time to realize this but I'm happy that I did. I went for more of a casual, fresh look in today's outfit because let's face it, we all need a break. There are days where I'm not going to get all dressed up and let's be real, and #ootd is sometimes casual! But before I let myself get too plain jane and added color with this long line cardi and of course I couldn't forget the shoe candy! These Pumas from the Rihanna line are always going to make a fashion point in any outfit so they were perfect for this casual one. Enjoy the look and happy Friday, woo hoo!

I think I'd have to say that a-line skirts are my favorite kind of skirts (short skirts anyway because hello! can't forget the maxi skirts). I've been obsessing over this style of skirt with the buttons in the front and pretty much have been trying to get them in every color possible. (This is like my third color.) Of course, I had to spring for the maroon corduroy because, Fall! I tried to incorporate Fall vibes into this outfit but it was so hard when the temps were tipping ninety degrees, I tried! I went casual and paired it with a simple white tee and black flats. I'd have to say this is a much more casual outfit than what I normally do and yet I still felt cute, yay for trying! Enjoy the look!
