Motivation Monday

It's hard enough already to live in a society where we are consumed with trying to portray a perfect life. Maybe that isn't our intention but we only want to show the world our best moments. The best pictures for Instagram; the ones with the biggest smiles, the best angles, and the flawless looking selfies. It's hard to be real when we're so used to everyone looking perfect. We don't want no one to see anything else. This brings a certain stigma upon us. The stigma that we all have to be "poppin", we all have to be on point, and this causes a lot of people to get selfish and close minded. Suddenly, you're so consumed with trying to be the best that you forget about others and you're so self absorbed, you forget that we're all trying to make it.
If I told you things were easy, I'd be lying. Everything is hard work; that's why it's called hard work. Nothing worth having comes easy. You have to be willing to take the risks and put in the time and energy, if you really want something worthwhile. And that comes with anything in life; relationships, careers, degrees, friendships, even this blog! I'll be the first to let you know that keeping up with a blog is nowhere near rainbows and sunshine. But you know what I will tell you? I will be damned if I allowed this blog to get to my head and made me think that I was the only one who's shit didn't stink. What I want to come from this blog is my portrayal of being normal. I'm not perfect and I don't want anyone to think I am. If anything, I want readers to see these posts and know that there's enough goodness in this world for us all. I want to cheer people up and let them know that they aren't the only ones feeling the way they do. I want to set the example and give others hope. You should too! The next time you become so self absorbed with your portrayal of having to be perfect for social media, stop, and instead be a cheerleader. Lift people up, don't be greedy. Greed can never be fulfilled but your willingness for uplifting will always be remembered.
HAPPY MONDAY!
