SoCal Casual

I'm not too sure if it has to do with age and not wanting to do my hair all the time or if it's the coconut oil I've been putting in my hair, but lately, I've been feeling my hair 'au naturale'. It has been cooperating with me on more than one occasion and I'm digging it; hoping it's here to stay! This might be my most casual outfit on the blog and I actually am proud. I never think that outfits like these are blog worthy, but when you live in sunny California and your wavy hair looks good, nothing works better than some cut off denim shorts and a tank to go along with it; California casual for sure. I bought this soft tank from Marshalls months ago and I just knew it would be perfect for those casual days. I kept a neutral color palette and wore my fave brown espadrilles from Dolce Vita from Target. Of course, I couldn't do TOO plain so I layered some necklaces for some neck delight. Enjoy the look and happy Friday!

All Tied Up

Tie up choker? Check! Tie up blouse? Check check! I might be a little obsessed with the choker trend but who isn't? It's just so perfect when you're trying to accentuate that bare naked neck of yours. This one that I bought from a local boutique is coming quite in handy and I love that it's a little different from my other chokers. This blouse is something I've had for a long while that I hadn't worn yet. (I know, I do that a lot!) So I'm so glad I finally took it out of the closet and gave it some sun. It's from Goodwill and it's actually a large but I used it as a loose crop. It came with shoulder pads but I took those babies out and voila, perfection! Goodwill is such a gem sometimes. I wanted to pop so I paired it with white pants and I went for a sophisticated look and added the heeled sandals from Lola Shoetique, which are in heavy rotation this Summer. I hope you guys like the look! Don't forget to watch my latest video on my channel here and see all the goodies I got from BeautyCon!

Motivation Monday

I know that I seem like the crusader for all things positivity on here but the truth is, I struggle with it, A LOT. I'm not perfect and I'll say it time and time again. A lot of things are easier said than done and as much as I want to practice what I preach, life just happens! All of a sudden I'm sitting at home and I'm realizing how life isn't what I expected or wanted it to be at the moment. Now I have a ton of things to be thankful for but of course we're not all perfect and there are certain things where I feel like I'm lacking. I can't help but to focus on those tiny minor things and they end up being such a big deal to me. I lose focus of what's important and don't realize that I'm allowing the negativity to consume me and my life; only bringing more negativity into my life.
Sometimes I'll write these #motivationmonday posts in a way where I'm talking to myself. They are journal like posts that are meant for me where I need a wake up call and realize that not all is lost. When I focus on the little tiny things that bother me, I fail to see all the good in my life. The irreplaceable things such as my health, my family's health, my great job, friends that are there for me and love me, my freedom to be who I want to be, and the list goes on. The point I'm trying to make is don't be so hard on yourself. Everything comes when it's supposed to. If you're lacking something or it isn't here yet, it doesn't mean it won't happen it's just not the time. But for now focus on what is now, and appreciate yourself for who you are and what you've become at this point in time. The other parts of your life will fall into place when you least expect them. Appreciate what is, appreciate the goodness of your life, and don't forget to water your side of the grass. You are where you are for a reason and all that's meant for you, the happiness you desire and dream about will come on it's own terms. Enjoy these moments, they'll only happen once.

The Bell-a Look

If bell sleeves, off the shoulder clothing, and fringe booties doesn't scream boho in the Summer to you then I don't know what will. These have to be my top favorite things in the fashion world. Funny thing is, I bought this dress from Forever 21 months and months ago and this is my first time wearing it. (I know, I'm weird.) Excuse the tan lines but I just had to finally bare my shoulders in the Summer sun and do it bohemian style. Everything about this dress is perfect; from the length, to the bell sleeves, and the light material of it - making it perfect for the hot days. I honestly don't know why it's taken me this long to wear it. The bell sleeves go perfectly with the fringe of the booties and the choker is just the cherry on top. Enjoy the look and happy Friday!
