Motivation Monday

I believe that without passion, it's really hard to throw yourself into something and see things happen. It's like doing something you don't really like to do and expecting greatness from it. We as people don't really like to do things we don't want to do. Unless, of course we are forced beyond our free will. But for me, passion is everything. It runs my life. I've always been a passionate person and if there's something I believe in then trust me, my passion goes into all of it. When you're passionate about something nothing can get in the way of that. You smile to do that one thing because it makes you so happy and you can't imagine not doing it. It's that one thing that you can throw yourself into and not get tired of it. You constantly think about it and it never gets old. Passion is what's going to get you through the day and it's what you'll be able to rely on and know that you gave it your all. For me, my passion is fashion and I share my passion through my blog.
This quote resonates with me so much because it rings true. If you think about it; whatever your passion is, you'll never give up on it. It'll never cease and until you are through with it all, it'll always be there and you'll always be working on it. Some of us are blessed with passions right away and sometimes they take time to come about. But either way, they're there and they're meant for you. Whatever it is that you love to do, DON'T STOP. Keep going! The fact that you've found your niche and are willing to continue with is great. Whatever you choose to do, put you're all into it. Don't half ass it. You deserve greatness. You deserve to be happy. If people look at you and laugh, forget them! Not everyone is going to understand and it's not meant for everyone to get it. What's meant for you is for you and that's all that should make sense. We live in a day in age where anything is possible, including your passion. So please do yourself a favor and never, ever cease.
HAPPY MONDAY!

Pinterest DIY Hack: Blackhead Remover -- Does it work!?

Hey loves! So as I find myself more on Pinterest lately, I can't help but veer towards all the little DIYs they have and natural ways to make beauty masks with things in your own kitchen. I've always been a fan of blackhead removers and been fascinated to see if they really work. I came across this simple recipe from a fellow pinner on Pinterest and I thought I'd give it a shot and see how it goes. Watch the video to see for yourself, enjoy!

SCROLL DOWN FOR MY FINAL THOUGHTS:

So here's what I really think: Yes, I did see some whiteheads/blackheads getting pulled out but not as much as I expected. I feel like because the gelatin was a neutral color, it was harder for me to see the results (that could've been a factor). The gelatin did smell weird to me but it was bearable for 10 minutes. The fact that this only required two ingredients and nothing too crazy is what sold me on trying it. The real question is: Will I use this recipe for this blackhead remover again? Probably not! I didn't see the results that I really wanted to see so I will be on the hunt for a better recipe to try! I'm thinking a charcoal DIY recipe next so stay tuned!

All Striped In

I don't know why, but it seems as though I had forgotten about my skirts for awhile. I think it has something to do with the fact that I was wearing them a lot for the blog and I wanted to spice it up. So I made my way back to the skirt drawer and pulled out my old loves. I had bought this tan one awhile ago and decided it was time to show it off. I wanted to keep it casual so I went for a striped look and let the mane down for an "au naturale" look. The heels are a great thrift find that I got months ago. When I first saw them I thought they were so cute; different, but cute! My friend had looked them up real quick and saw that they were real leather and actually went for over $100 so the $20 price tag was a steal! I loved the vintage feel that they added to the outfit and the fact that they were one of a kind made them that much better. Don't you just love those thrift finds? Enjoy the look!

Blushing Pink

The time has come for us to break out our shorts, midriffs, and bright colors; that's right people, Spring has sprung over here on the West Coast and I'm all for it. These pink shorts are actually years old but they were another one of those items that I became reacquainted with in my closet. Another great part is that they fit even better than from what I remember. I pulled them out because I wanted to add some color to my blog and why not do it with a bright color such as pink? I kept the rest of the outfit neutral so I could let the color speak for itself. My all time favorite jean jacket was just added just in case I felt a little breeze throughout the day. Oh, and the shoes were a must! Yay for espadrilles this Summer and lots of them!

Motivation Monday

I've always been one to follow my heart, wear it on my sleeve, believe the best in people, give things my all rather than live with regret. Call me a dreamer or a person full of spirit, naive, or what have you BUT I'd rather be called that than anything else. The truth is, I love the way I am. I love being the person that would rather do things to try them and say I tried then not because I'm afraid and always wonder "what if." Sure, this makes me vulnerable and it definitely puts myself out there for a lot of unknowns but I know that in my heart I'll be more content with that rather than living cautiously. Spirit over ego, ANY DAY.
The key to life is to not wait for the right moment to happen but instead make right now the right moment. If we keep waiting for everything to be how we want it to be or how we picture it, we'll be waiting a very long time. Not everything is going to be perfect and the moment that it starts to seem like everything is just right, it's not going to last forever. You see, life happens and the boat gets rocked and it's how you react to it and handle it is what counts. Love your life for what it is now. Accept the way things are now, roll with the punches, and know that if you're faith is greater than your doubt, happiness will follow. Take it for what it is and keep going. Keep stretching and keep reaching for greater, it'll come. Once you stop chasing the "perfect moment" you'll begin to live life with ease and the things that you've been wishing for will come when the time is right. Find peace in the life you live and you'll get to where you need to be.
HAPPY MONDAY!

Trenched

Ahh, the sound of rain couldn't sound any better in California, (Being as we are in a serious drought) but more importantly it sounds better when it comes to having a change of clothing options as opposed to the normal warmer weather uniform. It felt good for a change to be able to put on some pants and not feel like you were sweating just putting them on; To finally layer and "bundle up" felt.. nice. I was happy to finally have ended my search for a trench when I found this baby downtown and knew I needed it in my closet. I've been seeing it around and I just knew it would make a great addition to my ever growing wardrobe. Layering with this just felt right and I loved how it added chic to my jeans and tee look. The dusty rose color popped against the burgundy and the cheetah print boots from H&M were the perfect addition to an otherwise basic outfit. Another plus? The boots gave me height to avoid the rain puddles. Enjoy the look!
