Pop of Passion

Yes, I love the color red. Yes, I tend to wear it a lot, sue me. I don't know what it is that keeps me drawn to it. The brightness and the rich tone is definitely a plus though. It's no coincidence that the color red is associated with desire, passion, power, love, and emotion; a few of the things that rings true to my character. Being as it is such a bold statement color, I'll continue to rock it. But in this case, I kept it "subtle" with this outfit. I'll choose color over monochromatic any day so it's no surprise why I couldn't resist color popping in this outfit. The outfit itself is minimal; Forever 21 cream crop top and jean skirt. Typical Karina, I couldn't just leave it at that. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to bring out the pretty ruby red shoes, purse, and sunnies to give it that "Yes I'm here" look. The pop of color on the lip sealed the deal perfectly.

Cha Cha Girl

So originally this was supposed to be a Valentine's Day but I decided to save it for another time. This was more of a take on what I consider "edgy" for the special Vday and a bit on the casual side (for the ones who love to wear black over color.) I've been loving the off the shoulder looks lately and so when I saw this top at Forever 21 it was a must have for me! I like that it's off the shoulder but it doesn't feel like an annoying piece of fabric that keeps going up my arms. The ruffles on the side add a perfect touch of "cha cha" (insert red dress dancing emoji girl here) to the look. The high waist of the pants are perfect and help me to show off some skin but not too much. I kept the look simple with black flats and a black purse. Enjoy the look!

Motivation Monday

There's two types of people in this world; there's the ones who fail and never try again, and then there's the ones who continue to try multiple times even after they fail. Which one are you? I'd like to think of myself as the type of person who never gives up. I persevere through many of life's challenges and obstacles simply because I want things my way. Yeah I know we can't always have it our way but one thing is for sure- I'm not going to get something because I didn't try hard enough, it's going to be because something better is coming. In the past I have surely given up on something way too soon, and there's no bigger regret then asking yourself later "What if.." What if I tried this again or tried hard enough? Wondering to yourself how different something could've been if you just tried one more time.
Do yourself a favor and never stop getting back up. If things were easy then everyone would be doing them. Some things are meant for only you but they are only given to you when you work hard enough for them. Good things come to those who work their ass off, throw their heart and soul into it, and never stop trying. If it matters that much to you, you'll find a way to get there and you'll never stop trying. The ones who refuse to give up even after falling are the ones who are worthy of life's amazing gifts. It's not the fall that counts but how well you pick yourself up after the fall. With more motivation in your heart and focus in your mind, you'll be surprised with what you can accomplish.

P.S. We Love You Event Recap

Out of all the events I've been to, this one has to be one of my favorites. When I got invited and read on the flyer: hennas, nails, and braids, I was like "count me in!" I attended with my friend Kassy by my side. I'm so grateful for Lilac PR to have invited me in celebrating the launch of the FashionTap App which is super cool and easy to use! (Download it and thank me later.) It's basically a way for you to upload your outfits or make up looks and you can tap on what is from where; the same goes for your face too. You are able to tap on an area of your face, for instance: lips, and tag what brand of lipstick you're wearing. The DJ was spinning and the drinks were flowing. The vibe in the air was definitely a good one! The first thing we got to do was get henna tattoos. Which I was so excited about because I had never gotten one before. I went a little gung ho and eventually did both arms (oops!) - Check my instagram for pics. Gypsy Bazaar was so cute and good at what they do! I was also able to get my hair braided and I told her to do just do whatever to my mane. I loved how my hair came out so much, I wore it like that to work the next day. Kassy got her nails done as well and honestly, I was just glad to have bee invited. Who doesn't love some TLC in the form of hennas and braids? Not to mention the great gift bags they gave afterwards (hello Colour Pop!) We had such a fun time and I tried to capture as much as possible; enjoy the pics!
