Rustic

Fall where art thou? -- My words exactly when I'm trying to dress like Fall in 90 degree plus weather; the struggle is real my friends. So a t-shirt dress in a warm color and a hat will have to suffice until the temps start to drop. Let's just call this the LA Fall look for now. There's nothing like a good t-shirt dress to save the day and solve your problems in trying to dress cute but still let your skin breath in the heat. I recently got this one from Forever 21 and let me say, I need it in other colors. The feel of the fabric and the fit is perfect! It's definitely easy to dress up and down, which makes it an even better pick in my book. I wanted to add more to it than just sneaks so I rocked my newly beloved creeper shoes (also from Forever 21) and the green hat from H&M for an extra plus. Now, if I can only get the weather to cooperate with my Fall feels, that'd be great!

Motivation Monday!

Happy Monday! Can we just stop for a second and realize that September is already over? Just like that and we're into Halloween then Christmas! It's funny how time seems to go by so slow sometimes but when we look back everything has changed. Soon enough it'll be that time where we should start thinking about ourselves and our goals for the new year. But before we go and jump the gun, we should probably focus on ending this year right. A lot of times we are put in certain situations and no matter what we do, we get stuck in this rut or problem and can't seem to find a solution. It's probable that most of the time we don't realize that it is our reactions that lead us to bigger problems. Was there ever a time where you wished that you could change the way you reacted to something in order to lead you to a different ending? That is due to our usual way of handling things; not realizing that if we change the way we respond, we change the outcome.
If there's one thing that you can control in life, it's that you can control you, yourself, and your actions. No one can take that away from you and that's what makes things crucial. The problem isn't that the negative events keep continuing, the problem is how you're reacting to it. You have the freedom to change your attitude and see things from a different perspective. With a different perspective comes a different attitude and with that comes different results. Complaining about the situation isn't going to change it, or continuing to talk about it isn't either. Instead, change the way you think about it, change your whole thought process and see this in a different light. You can't have a positive life with a negative attitude. Your thoughts are powerful, remember that. Focus on solutions for better results.
HAPPY MONDAY!

Goodwill Try On Haul VIDEO!

Happy Friday! I hope you find yourself well! I'm here to say that I am back on track with my videos again. It's been very hard working full time and trying to keep up with the blog, let alone YouTube. But I am trying to make this happen and work so bare with me! I went to Goodwill last week with the intention of finding something for a future DIY video and I thought it would be nice to share with you what I got at Goodwill. I hope you enjoy this video! Don't forget to like it and share it!

Fall into Black

I'm sure I'm not the only one who can say that I seriously can't wait for the Fall weather to start here in SoCal. Going to the mall and seeing all the darker and warmer clothing isn't helping my anticipation either. However, since it's still hot here, this darker color palette of an outfit will have to do for now. Hands down, I am a color kinda girl. But when I choose black best believe I go all out to look as edgy as possible. I finally got around to wearing this shirt from American Apparel and I thought to myself, "I haven't worn a maxi skirt in awhile, lets go for it," so that's what lead me to this. I can't completely convert to Fall-like clothing just yet, so I stuck with the black gladiator sandals to still keep cool. This time around I went for silver jewelry instead of gold and I really like the vibe it was giving me; silver jewelry is here to stay for the cooler months.

Motivation Monday!

Happy Monday! I read somewhere that "we have two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak" and man that couldn't ring more true. Most of the time, if not, a lot of the time we are put into situations where we aren't really thinking too much and our mouth just goes a mile a minute. This leads us to even more problems or hurting someone that we care about, because we couldn't think before we speak. One of the most important things that we need to learn as adults is that it's not about how fast we are with our reaction to speak but how well and willing we are to listen to other person in order to get to a solution. Most disagreements or arguments stem from people not being able to speak their peace and actually reach an understanding of why they felt the way they felt. It's like most of the time we're just trying to get our word in and not really creating a solution.
Rather than just trying to respond to someone in an argument, take the time to actually listen and follow with clarity in your mind before you speak. You'd save yourself a lot of time and trouble if we just learned to talk like adults and solve problems rather than just trying to be defensive all the time. Arguments are not about who is quicker with their tongue and their words but rather, how to come to a solution and understanding. A lot of unnecessary things are said and misinterpreted when our tongues are hot with backlash and defense. Think before you speak and make sure to really mean what you say. You'll see that a lot of the time most people aren't trying to hurt you with their words, but rather they're just releasing their temper with words. Try not to get so offended when someone is mad but rather be the adult in the situation and speak with clarity and truth. An argument isn't a competition and it's not about who can hurt each other more. Listen twice before you speak so that way you mean what you say and say what you mean.
 HAPPY MONDAY!

Casualty

Is it wrong of me to jump start my Fall season and reach for my darker lipstick and clothes every time I get dressed? Well so be it. However, I'd really like for the SoCal weather to keep up with my yearning for Fall. I'm always on the hunt for cute casual dresses because of their versatility and how you can dress them up or down. This dress was no exception and of course came home with me from Forever 21. I could've dressed it extra down with some sneakers but I decided to go for this Forever 21 sandalettes instead because I thought it would give the outfit extra oomph. Even though this outfit was pretty casual I still felt like it made me feel like I stood out; something I always crave with my #ootd.
