Concrete Jungle

I've noticed that when I go edgy, I stay on the edgy train for awhile. I feel like my last couple of outfit posts have been nothing but tomboy/edgy/street style; this one included. As much as I enjoy the fact that I'm learning how to be a minimalist and feel good dressing simple, I find myself also missing the girly fabrics and bright colors. It's been established that I'm an open book when it comes to fashion, I love it all. The start of this outfit began with the t-shirt dress from Forever 21. You've seen previously here that I've styled the same shirt in white so here is my take on the black. Obviously not too much can change but I felt a bit more boyish with the darker color. I switched up my heels for my Doc Martens and added the knee highs for an extra kick. The floral hat was just the perfect stand out piece for this otherwise dark outfit.

Styled in Sepia

Is it safe to say that fashion is an art?! I never thought I would be the type of girl to wear this kind of dress/shirt/tunic but, never say never right?! As my taste in clothing is ever evolving, I continue to surprise myself on my choices. But one thing is for sure, putting together an outfit is a talent. Sounds silly, but I feel proud when I put together something that I see would be a challenge to others. I mean, this long line slit shirt isn't for everyone but I made it work for me! Another reason why I got it is because I felt like it looked good with my tan and that's a good enough reason for me! I automatically envisioned wearing it with my (p)leather shorts from H&M and topping off the look with these heeled sandals from Papaya. The leather accents of the sandals along with the shorts bounced off perfectly with the top making it a win.
