Motivation Monday!

Happy Monday! The new year is upon us and now is the perfect time to make a change for the better! You owe it to yourself and your life. I've been anxious for this motivation Monday because I was going to get a little more personal with you all. In the light of the New Year coming this week, I wanted to share with you my top 5 New Years resolutions. I thought that maybe they could help you make some of your own and that you'd enjoy reading them. Ever since I started reading about the Law of Attraction and The Secret, I've been big on giving myself goals for the new year. I wanted to make sure that I refocus myself and my life to be able to make the best out of the new year. I want to accomplish plenty this new year so I have to set myself with a great foundation first. Here are my top 5: 

1. Be kind. This is my top one because of that fact that it's so important to me. No matter where we go we should always act with kindness. We don't know what a stranger is going through and the impact of our kind hello or kind gesture could really brighten someone's day. We don't really see how our actions of spreading kindness (which by the way isn't that hard to do) can set the example and really make us become more aware of ourselves. I want to learn to be more kind and learn not to judge right away whenever I'm around people. I want to be known as a kindhearted person so that I can develop the habit and turn it into a permanent thing. When you spread kindness you'll be inviting it back into your life in other circumstances. 

2. Mind your own business. This one is another major one for me! I feel like this is something that a lot of people can learn to do as well. We're human and we are inclined to gossip, it's in our nature. But what we don't realize is that we're putting our time and energy into something that has NOTHING to do with us or our life. When I hear of something or someone I want to ask myself, "What does this have to do with me?" and if it has nothing to do with me, I need to shut up and let it go. I've experienced the he said she said first hand and I HATE people talking about me and my business when they shouldn't be. I definitely don't want to be that person. If it's not about you, don't talk about it. Gossiping and placing your judgements on others based off of what other people say is just negativity clouding your life. What goes around comes around and positive vibes is all that I want around me. 

3. Don't believe everything that your mind thinks. I am totally in need of this! My mind has definitely turned into my worst enemy at times. Being a girl, I've been able to think one simple tiny thought and in ten seconds created this big scenario in my head that will probably never ever happen. But it has me thinking all these bad things and making me upset. I no longer want to be a victim of my own mind. I control my mind, my mind DOESN'T control me! What happens in my life will be a direct production of all the thoughts I have. What you believe will happen will come to life so you better make sure you're thinking nothing but the best for yourself. 

4. Be grateful and thankful for what is. You're wealthy. Often times we tend to forget the simple things of our lives and overlook the wealth we have. Because something isn't the way I pictured it I lose complete focus and forget the fact that I have what I have! Just because it didn't happen or it isn't shaped the way I wanted it to be shaped, I tend to question it. But some things in my life were granted for me and for that I should be grateful. Things will happen on their own, when the timing is right. That is something I tend to forget. I want to be able to love and accept my life and the people in it for what they are. I've been granted with such a wealthy and prosperous life that I need to be grateful for it. There's nothing better than wealth in relationships and family time so that is what I need to realize is a gift. 

5. Think positive no matter what. Don't let negativity cloud your judgement.  I am nowhere near perfect nor do I claim to be. I think the craziest of thoughts and I think of the worse at times. I want to be able to train myself and learn to only think positive. This is something that definitely needs work but I need this for myself. I want to see the good in everything and not let the negative of the day consume my mind. As people, we tend to see one bad thing and let it ruin our whole day. I definitely read way too much into things sometimes and that is what leads me to negativity. When I let go of the bad I'll be able to live a more carefree life and stop letting myself and my mind get in the way of myself. 

So there you have it, my top 5 New Year resolutions. There's definitely more to the list but I thought the most important ones were good enough for sharing.
