Motivation Monday!

Happy Monday! I hope this post finds you well. I was so bummed that I missed Motivation Monday last week that I wasn't going to let it happen again! Now since the year is coming to an end it's time for us to start regrouping our thoughts and refocusing on ourselves. Bring on the New Year's resolutions! I'm sure you've put some thought into it; I know I have. I'm starting to think of myself as a person and where there is room for improvement. I've always believed that I can be bigger and better. As I've said before, I'm not perfect and I will probably never try to be. I know that there are good times with myself and there are bad but one thing is for sure, I'll never stop trying!

I decided that I would want to try and focus on my own resolutions. What I would want to change about myself or what I could try to differently. I thought one good thing that we can all try to do is BE KIND. Now, I know this is easier said than done. Things happen, life happens and sometimes it's not so pretty. But we shouldn't let this change our demeanor. One thing we can all try is to be kind to one another. Be kind to a stranger, a kid, a co worker even. Our random act of kindness that really doesn't take much effort can seriously make someones day. There will come a time in our lives where will think of others and really remember the times where they were nice to us, where they made us smile or laugh when we really needed it.

People will always remember when you were there for them or when you were nice to them. Trust me! I had a recent experience of this when I was at TJ Maxx awhile ago and I was walking through the shoe section. There was a woman in the same aisle and I had to get pass her. Before getting in front of her I said excuse me as I made my way in front of her. I walked fast to not get in her way. As I made my way past her she said "Excuse me.." I thought she was going to ask me about an item I had in my hand but instead she says, "Thank you for saying that. People now and days are so rude." And it seriously was so refreshing to hear that from her. A person so grateful to have heard the words excuse me was seriously gratifying. I was just going about my day being kind and courteous and life repaid me with kindness.

So let's try to be kind and courteous to others. Even when strangers are rude to us, we never know what they may be going through so relay them with a smile. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain. Through everything in your life, good or bad you will always remember certain people for the goodness that they've brought to your life. Be that light to someone else, brighten up their day, and be kind.
